Cenote Ponderosa, widely known by locals and tourists as ‘El Jardín del Edén’ (Garden of Eden), lives up to its biblical name. It is essentially a gigantic natural swimming pool in the middle of the jungle that leads into a wide, shallow cavern system. The magic here is the light. Because of the large open-water entrance, the sun hits the bottom creating majestic ‘Curtains of Light’ that ripple and dance like gold. It is one of the most relaxing and visually stunning dives in the Riviera Maya, perfect for seeing freshwater fish, eels, and turtles in crystal clear high-definition.
The Full Circuit
Many snorkelers stay in the open area. As divers, we take you deep under the rock overhangs to explore the hidden passages connecting Ponderosa to neighboring cenotes (like Corral).

Duration: Approx. 7-8 Hours (Full Day).
Cancun Pickup: 7:00 AM at Always Diving Facility.
Playa del Carmen: 8:00 AM at your accommodation.
Riviera Maya: 8:30 AM at your accommodation.
Cozumel Guests: 8:00 AM pickup at the Playa del Carmen Ferry Pier.
Experience Level Required
Certification: Open Water Diver required.
Skill Level: Beginner Friendly. This is one of the best “First Cenote” experiences due to its wide spaces and easy access.
Cameras: Action cameras (GoPro) are allowed, but strictly no professional large rigs without prior permission/fee from the land owner.
